The Setting:

It is towards the beginning of the school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the first Quidditch game of the season is about to begin.  In this game, Gryffindor, last year’s winners of the house cup, will face off against Slytherin.  But this year, Slytherin is determined to win by any means necessary.  Some of you are here to play a clean and fair game, while others are here for more sinister reasons.  Consider everyone a suspect and ask your questions thoroughly.  The criminal will be implicated in three ways: A motive, spell, and opportunity. Many players will have two of these things but only one of them will have all three. For the best results concentrate your questions in these three areas. Everyone must tell the truth except for the criminal. He or she is the only person who can lie.

The Crime:

Moments before the game was about to begin, Ginny Weasley screamed and everyone came running to the Gryffindor tent where the Gryffindor players were preparing for the game.  Ron Weasley, the Keeper for Gryffindor, lay on the ground, stiff as a board.  The situation was obvious to the wizards – someone had used petrificus totalus, a full-body bind curse, on Ron.  The professors didn’t have any mandrake root available to cure Ron, so the curse will simply have to wear off over time.  Until then, everyone is determined to find out who used the curse on the Hogwarts student.  One of you is the criminal.  The rest of you need to find out who it was.  When you have found someone with a motive to petrify Ron, the ability to cast the full-body bind curse, and who was in the Gryffindor tent today, then you may have found the true culprit.       GOOD LUCK!!!
