The Setting:

This morning, a body was discovered DOA in a motel room near Las Vegas, Nevada. Because of the suspicious nature of the death, medical examiners, special forensic units, and murder detectives have been called in to investigate the crime scene. By using high-tech gadgetry, analysis of the forensic evidence, and detective skills, these crime scene investigators intend to find out what circumstances lead to this death and who might be responsible. Some of you are CSI who are here to investigate the crime scenes and analyze the evidence. Some of you are innocent witnesses who know something important about the victim or the murder. And some of you are suspects with secrets to protect. Every one of you has valuable information that will help unravel the mystery. Gather evidence by speaking with other CSI detectives and scientists – each has collected or analyzed an important piece of evidence. You need to determine who the victim is, how they were killed, and where the crime took place. The evidence will soon lead you to suspects and witnesses to question. Find out if they had a motive to kill the victim, and if the evidence links them to the weapon and the crime scene. Consider everyone a suspect and ask your questions thoroughly. The murderer will be implicated in three ways: A motive, weapon, and opportunity. Many players will have two of these things but only one of you will have all three. For the best results concentrate your questions in these three areas. Everyone must tell the truth except for the criminal. She is the only person who can lie.

The Crime:

Las Vegas, Nevada. Friday August 31, 2007: 7:13 pm. In a run-down, seedy motel, far from the Vegas strip, a maid enters room 122 to tidy up a guest’s room. But what she discovers is a ghastly sight. Blood spatters cover the walls, furniture lies turned over and broken, and a man in his bathrobe is collapsed on the floor. The LVPD quickly arrives at the scene. A gross inspection reveals the victim is a white male in his fifties and was killed from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. It is up to the Crime Scene Investigators to collect clues, analyze the evidence, and figure out what happened here and who is responsible.
